“Pacific Fair will be a Gold Coast ‘must-visit’, with a five star resort ambience and a unique indoor/outdoor environment reflecting the Queensland lifestyle. The $670M project will boost the Gold Coast economy by creating around 1,600 construction jobs and 950 retail jobs on completion. We continue to look at opportunities for long-term investment in Queensland “
Bryan Hynes – AMP Capital Shopping Centres Managing Director
After a lengthy design and tender evaluation process in 2014 KOBE was successfully awarded the contract for Pacific Fair Redevelopment by the builder Scentre Group Design and Construction, continuing our ongoing relationship with the flagship shopping centre builder.
The scale of the project and subsequent length of the build dictated a staged approach to public openings and KOBE was tasked with extending the existing systems in place so that each stage was fully operational. The centre had recently undergone an upgrade of their CCTV system and the Milestone Xprotect Corporate system in place was extended using their Federated Architecture offering to incorporate the 100+ existing cameras with 320+ new high definition cameras.
A new network design was implemented with a fibre star topology connecting 40+ Cisco edge PoE switches with Cisco core and distribution switches. A new security Domain was established and the network logically segmented using VLANs for security and other building services applications.
Dell Enterprise PowerEdge servers were installed to provide continual operation of the entire system and make real-time and evidentiary review of onsite incidents simple, immediate and reliable for the various security operators both onsite and offsite.
An Inner Range Integriti access control platform was extended to all areas of the site, providing restricted access to back of house areas, detection of unauthorised entry and historical evidence of persons movements. This system was integration with the Milestone CCTV system to provide video verification of alarms and events.
